Period 4 Summary of Section 1:
Summary:
Yasser Mansour, an Israeli-Arab living through the midst of Israeli conflict deals with many diffcult hardships daily. For example, at the David Ben Gurion International Airport, Yasser Mansour was usually pulled to the side because of his religion unlike his other colleagues which were Jewish and were treated much differently then him at the Customs queue. Ever since intifada II, to more and more Jews the word Palestinian sounds more like a poetential terrorist than a fellow Jew. Yasser also describes how difficult it is for his children to grow up in one of Israel's main ports, Haifa, where he says not a day goes by where this is news or images of fighting or funerals where he has to step in and entertain his kids with programs such as Bugs Bunny to try and cheer them up. And he also states how difficult it is for him being a Gynecologist when after an attack the major right wing-Likudniks leave him as patients because they are worried that he might be a terrorist or they don't necessarily trust the Arab population of Israel.
